For Us, By Us

Upstate Color (UPCO) is a BIPOC community cultivating a sense of belonging by engaging and connecting with each other and our Upstate New York surroundings.

We Got Us.

The “we”, “us” and “our” of UPCO is made up by the community of BIPOC in the Hudson Valley as well as those who support and align with the community.

WHO WE ARE

Expanding how we belong.

The goal is to shift the majority presence. Not to exclude others, but to expand our presence and the ways we occupy and move through our home.

HOW WE WORK

We’re Always Evolving

The way Upstate Color operates is flexible and responsive to reflect and integrate the needs, desires, and feedback of the people we serve.

Guided by Care

Accessibility, adaptability, cooperation, and collaboration are core to how UPCO operates.

No One Way To Show Up

There’s no one way to show up

The ways our community connects, both in real life and online, are stewarded by us, for us. There are many ways to participate in UPCO, from events to group chats. We take an egalitarian approach, encouraging community members to share, host, and contribute.
